Have You Met Jesus?
The first thing Andrew did was to find his brother Simon and tell him,
“We have found Messiah” (that is, the Christ). John 1:41
Have you met Jesus? Do you know Him?
I would submit that there is no greater question to ask of yourself or ask anyone else than this. I would also submit that there is evidence that you can look for in people who know Jesus.
John 1:40-42 reads, “Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, was one of the two who heard what John had said and who had followed Jesus. The first thing Andrew did was to find his brother Simon and tell him, “We have found the Messiah” (that is, the Christ). And he brought him to Jesus.”
People who have met Jesus tell others about Him. People who have met Jesus bring others to meet Him. The first thing Andrew did was to tell his brother about meeting Jesus. “And he brought him to Jesus.” There is nothing greater that we can do than to bring someone to Jesus!
Reverend Frank Barker, the founding pastor of Briarwood Presbyterian Church, was known for his faithfulness in personal evangelism. I think this quote sums it up pretty well, “If you meet a Christian in Birmingham who is 60 or older,” Campus Outreach pastor Olan Stubbs told The Gospel Coalition in 2018, “and you ask them how they came to Christ, I’d bet my money that at some point they’ll mention Frank Barker.” (Christianity Today, January 3, 2022) Wow! What a difference (an eternal difference!) your life can make if you dedicate it to bringing others to Jesus.
Do you know Jesus? If you don’t know Jesus or if you are not sure, don’t let today pass without being sure. Go to Jesus in prayer and ask Him to reveal the truth about Himself to you. Talk to someone you know and trust about how to have a relationship with Jesus. Or contact us at Reel Life and we would be thrilled to talk with you!
If you truly want to begin a relationship with Jesus, here is a sample prayer,
“Dear God, I know I’m a sinner, and I ask for your forgiveness. I believe Jesus Christ is your Son. I believe that He died for my sin and that You raised Him to life. I want to trust Him as my Savior and follow Him as my Lord, from this day forward. Guide my life and help me to do your will. I pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen.”

And if you do know Jesus, but perhaps the thrill and joy of knowing Him have grown cold, go to Him again today and receive His love that He is constantly extending to you. If you know Jesus, introduce someone else to Him today, and trust Him to do in their life what only He can do.
