O Holy Night
Galatians 4:4-5
As we approach Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, we celebrate the arrival of the long-awaited Savior. The night when Christ was born was like no other in all of history. It was the night that changes everything. It is indeed a most Holy Night.
O Holy Night!
The stars are brightly shining
It is the night of the dear Savior’s birth!
Long lay the world in sin and error pining
Till he appeared, and the soul felt its worth.
A thrill of hope the weary soul rejoices
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn!
Fall on your knees
Oh hear the angel voices
Oh night divine
Oh night when Christ was born
Oh night divine
Oh night divine
And the night was just the right night, just the right time. “But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those under the law, that we might receive adoption to sonship.” (Galatians 4:4-5)
The gift of God in His Son Jesus is the greatest gift that has ever been given and it is the greatest gift that can ever be received. We, like all of the world, “long lay in sin and error” until our “soul feels the worth” of our Savior. And when we do see Jesus for Who He is, our “weary soul rejoices”.
Rejoice in the hope that can only be found in trusting Jesus as your Savior. And fall on your knees as you worship Him this Christmas.
