We took our first mission trip to San Quintin this past summer. We chose this trip with Reel Life because we were able to take our children (9 and 11 years) and all were able to be involved. Joining with Mexican Medical Ministries, we participated in a health fair, where basic health screenings were done for migrant farm workers. Even our kids were able to help by passing out goody bags or by going with an adult to help with street evangelism. Other days were spent doing a morning VBS at a local church as well as an afternoon community activity at a local park. We spent a couple evenings doing a film ministry where we played with kids (and gave a lot of piggyback rides!) then watched a film about Jesus while sitting with them. The response from the locals in each of these events was great.
This trip impacted our family by getting us to put action with our faith. The trip has increased our desire to go again and to make missions a priority. When you go and do what God has commanded us to do, it brings joy. We feel we received as much, if not more, in return.
