As the world has been in the midst of a global pandemic for the last 6 months, mission team sending organizations have been greatly impacted, and RLI has been no different. We have been forced to see this pause as an opportunity to reexamine who we are and what the Lord is calling us to do. We do know He is not telling us to sit back and wait for the world to open back up. So, what can we do right now right here in our community?

That’s where you come in! We have established a partnership with Christian Service Mission (www.csmission.org) to offer monthly mission project opportunities here in Birmingham. The third Saturday of each month starting this month on Saturday, September 19, we will have an opportunity for you and your family to serve our community on mission. We will send out monthly reminder emails to let you know what we will be doing, how you can help, and how to sign up. Each mission project will give us all the chance to be the hands and feet of Jesus to people in need. These projects will continue monthly through the spring. Also, please know that we are currently putting together international mission project opportunities for 2021 and will be posting those trips on our website very soon.

We ask that you prayerfully consider giving of your time and energy to serve on one of these international teams next year. One thing we certainly know is that as the pandemic subsides, we are going to be living in a world that needs the Gospel of Jesus more than ever before.   We can be part of His plan to bring that Gospel to people who long to hear good news right now – good news that can be life changing for them and life changing for us, as we are part of His plan to bring glory and honor to our Heavenly Father.
