The Good Shepherd

The Good Shepherd

Psalm 23

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

Psalm 23 – King James Version

Where do you turn in times of significant trouble or loss?

Turn to the Good Shepherd.  The Good Shepherd will ensure that you lack nothing.  You shall not want.

The Good Shepherd will restore you soul.  And he will lead you through difficult times in a way that brings glory to His Name.  Trust Him.

Even when you or your loved ones face death, you need not fear.  Why?  Because the Good Shepherd is with you!  And He will comfort you.  Rest in Him.

Even in times of great loss, your heart can be at peace in the assurance of God’s eternal faithfulness, love, and provision.    You can have the “peace that surpasses all understanding” (Philippians 4:6). No matter what the circumstances of life, your cup can overflow with God’s goodness.

Praise God for His mercies that are new every morning (Lamentations 3:22-23)!  The Good Shepherd is with you and will be with you all the days of your life, and you will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
